The focus of the role is to manage the leasing process of our current and prospective retail property portfolio across the Bonds and Champion retail network

This will include:

  • negotiating new sites and existing site renewals with leasing executives and landlords
  • identifying potential sites for new store openings
  • building business cases new store openings to present to Senior Management for approval
  • managing our retail portfolio in terms of renewals for our existing sites
  • building and maintaining solid relationships with leasing executives and landlords

We will look to you to provide advice and guidance around which Centre locations that will be right for us, from understanding the Australian and New Zealand shopping centre landscape, our brands, our consumer demographic and high level store commercial metrics to build a viable case for new store builds.

We have a very busy agenda ahead in terms of new store openings and project managing refurbishments across all store formats, locations and in some cases with multi-branded product. As we grow this role will be more involved in conversations around what analysis needs to be done, for example in how to minimise cannibalisation and how we can optimise sales in specific locations whilst balancing the retail landscape and consumer channel shifts.  

This role is pivotal in us successfully executing our retail growth strategy across the Apparel Group, and represents a fantastic opportunity to the team and take retail to the next level! Please note: this is an initial 12m contract covering a maternity leave, however we are looking for someone who is able to commit to a longer term role in the team.

What experience do I have?

  • Proven background and experience working in retail property leasing
  • Multi branded property portfolio management experience
  • Relationship management skills – what relationships can you bring to the table?
  • Investigative and analytical skills – we will need you to use a variety of tools and access information from a range of sources to help decision-making ie. Catchment areas, demographics, existing sites, competitor sites, etc.
  • Negotiation skills – your role will be to work with leasing executives and landlords to keep the balance between ensuring key opportunities come our way, whilst standing firm and avoiding  rent increases
  • Willingness to take initiative, make decisions and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong commercial acumen – you are highly numerate and not afraid of jumping into the detail
