We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join the Big W sales team to manage two of our key categories: Women's, Kids and Baby Socks and Kids Underwear. This is a rare opportunity to work with one of Australia's largest retailers, across multiple iconic brands, and in an experienced and talented sales team. What better way to kick off 2018 than with a new role, working with household brands and for our inspiring and iconic business!

You will be focused on sell in and sell through, trade spend and identifying promotional opportunities to achieve financial objectives and budgets. We are looking for someone who has an analytical mind and, at any stage of the day, knows exactly where things sit in terms of sales and stock. You will also be responsible for key projects, including Online Product Management across all categories and brands for the Big W account.

Your success in this role will be based on your ability to:

  • Develop 12 month outlook for your accounts and the category
  • Own top line sales and profit budgets for category
  • Manage and maximise the effectiveness of trade spend
  • Develop business and promotional plans to ensure all sales and profit targets are met
  • Detailed forecasting, analysis and reporting to identify potential opportunities and risks
  • Complete post season reviews for the category
  • Work with the product teams to develop promotional opportunities, review basic product ranges and identify new product opportunities as well as look for possible replenishment opportunities
  • Build and maintain an excellent working relationship with key buyers.

What experience do I have?

  • Hands on sales and account management experience – minimum 3-5 years' experience required in a relevant industry/field
  • Previous experience dealing with key Buyers, ideally in Discount Department Store or Department store channels
  • Project management experience
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong commercial acumen – you must be highly proficient in Excel
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
